Sony plans to have a wide variety of classic PlayStation 2 games on the PlayStation 4, but needs your help in making that happen. On Twitter, PlayStation Worldwide Studio’s Dave Thach asked people for feedback on what PS2 games they wanted to play on the PS4. He urged everyone to use the hashtag “#ps2ps4.”Loving all the PS2 on PS4 feedback! Use #ps2ps4 for your wish list suggestions so we can easily aggregate them all. We are listening…— Dave Thach (@davethach) December 9, 2015The folks naturally jumped in with their suggestions. These included games like: God Hand, Silent Hill 2, Bully, Gladius, Final Fantasy XII, and SOCOM 2. You can see many of the other suggestions by clicking on the tweet and checking out the replies.Rumors of PS2 emulation began back with the announcement of a PS4 bundle for Star Wars Battlefront which featured four classic Star Wars games, three of which were from the PS2-era. What got folk’s attention is that these games weren’t remasters, but appeared to be emulated. This was surprising given that Sony had made no formal announcement of PS2 emulation for the PS4.Sometime later, Sony officially announced that it was indeed bringing PS2 emulation to the PS4. Eight “fan favorite” titles were revealed at this time. These included games such as: Dark Cloud, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. All of these titles would retail for $10 to $15, have up-rendered 1080p visuals, and feature trophy support. If you want to see any specific PS2 games on the PS4, then make sure to let Sony know by using the #ps2ps4 hashtag. Maybe your choice will be among those games chosen to be brought over.
