The Sri Lankan selectors have resigned following defeats in the Test and ODI series against India. The islanders were walloped 0-3 in the Test matches and trail the five-match ODI series 0-3.In the aftermath of the horror show, the selection committee headed by former captain Sanath Jayasuriya decided to put in its papers. The selectors have already picked the squads for the last two ODIs and the one-off T20 International. Two months ago, the selection committee had been given a six-month extension. They barely managed to hold on for a win over Zimbabwe in a one-off Test and were completely exposed by India, the world number one Test team.They have not fared any better in ODIs either, crashing out of the group stages in the Champions Trophy. They were also blanked by South Africa in a five-match ODI series and defeated by Zimbabwe at home before India came visiting.
