first_imgManchester United have agreed a deal to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.The Bundesliga side’s chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has announced ‘there is an agreement’ with the Reds Devils for the Germany captain.Louis van Gaal worked with the 30-year-old during his time at the Allianz Arena and targeted the star as the man to increase his midfield options next season.Schweinsteiger has grown frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunites last year and reportedly told Munich he wanted to leave this summer.And that has allowed Manchester United to swoop, with a fee of around £15million being agreed between the two clubs.Earlier in the day teammate Joshua Kimmich told the media it was a ‘shame to lose a quality player’, sparking rumours a deal must be close.
